Tenant Working Group

Purpose

The Tenant Working Group aims to establish a broader collective understanding of the conditions Atlanta-area renters face, in order to build renter power and bring transformative changes to tenants. We want to create a united power that can facilitate political education, economic change, and a city-wide Tenant Union. Some strategies to reach these collective goals include: Engaging local and statewide renters, holding tenant power trainings, and building relationships across complexes, so that tenants facing eviction or unsafe conditions know that they are NEVER alone and that when we fight together, we win together!

WORK WITH US! The Tenant Working Group meets Thursdays at 6pm on Google Meet. Email tenantworkinggroup@housingjusticeleague.org for the call information.

Tenant Bill of Rights

In the Tenant Working Group, we believe that community organizing is primary. However, we put together the Tenants’ Bill of Rights because the renters of Atlanta (the majority of people!) need concrete change in the law to stop the wildly unfair, undemocratic nature of the housing market in its tracks!
